ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is a safe, natural and effective treatment that has been used for 2,000 years to treat imbalances in the body, that present as symptoms or pain. Using hair thin needles, which are strategically placed at various meridians in the body, Acupuncture works to free up stagnant Qi, which is causing an imbalance. This method encourages the body to heal naturally by bringing the body into a state of balance, improving overall bodily function and preventing disease. At Therapeutic Bodywork, our approach to your health is comprehensive and each Acupuncture appointment may include gentle needling, cupping, moxa, bodywork, and dietary + lifestyle recommendations to help guide you to optimal health.

Acupuncture - Initial Session

A comprehensive assessment of your medical history and present symptoms will determine a suitable treatment protocol. Treatment can include gentle needle acupuncture, cupping, moxa, lifestyle and nutrition guidance.

Acupuncture – Follow Up

Follow up sessions will be based on the initial appointment and plan of care established with the acupuncturist.

Gentle Acupuncture

For those with needle sensitivity, we have created a 'Gentle Acupuncture' session which includes treatment using non-insertion needles, as well as other treatment options including; cupping, moxa, tui na and gua sha. If the patient concedes to using some acupuncture needles, extra thin and sensitive needles will be used. A wonderful and effective option for those who are needle sensitive.

Initial Session = $125

Follow Up Session = $80

Herbal - Lifestyle Consultations

A major component to Chinese medicine is the use of Herbal remedies. Chinese herbs support and balance the body to safely return to a state of homeostasis and optimal function. They can be used for disease, disease prevention, maintenance of health and longevity. During this Herbal-Lifestyle Consultation, your current concerns and symptoms will be addressed and proper realistic dietary and lifestyle adjustments will be outlined. In addition, customized herbal formulas will be prescribed for treatment.

After the Initial Consultation, two follow up sessions are required, though more are usually recommended for deeper health. These appointments are normally booked two weeks apart for chronic conditions or less for more acute situations. The initial appointment is 45-60 minutes while follow up appointments are roughly 20-30 minutes. Please arrive early with a current list of medications/supplements and to fill out a thorough initial intake form; an email version may be requested ahead of your appointment.

Herbal- Lifestyle Consultation Package = $187 (Includes Initial Session $89 and Two Follow-Up Sessions $49 ea.)

Separate Follow Ups = $55

Price does not include the price of herbs.

*Please note that herbal consultations are included in regular acupuncture sessions and do not require a separate charge except for the price of herbs.

At Therapeutic Bodywork, we use only the highest and purest quality herbs: always organic, wild crafted and non-gmo whenever possible. We currently carry a wide array of products including: Classical Pearls chinese herbs, Floracopeia essential oils, Host Defense medicinal mushrooms, Banyan Botanicals Ayurvedic herbs and supplies, Health Force superfoods and Enzymedica enzymes.

Acupuncture for Kids-Tweens

Yes, we treat children of all ages! These sessions can be a combination of bodywork, non-insertive needling, cupping, dietary recommendations, moxa and/or herbs.  Our comprehensive approach treats both physical and emotional disorders and can be catered to the comfort level of the child and family. In general, children respond very quickly and positively to treatments and thus, the duration and course of treatment is often shorter. This treatment is for those 13 years of age and under.

I just wanted to give a huge thank you to Paul for the acupuncture! I have had an injury for close to 10 years and have done PT, cortisone shots, chiropractor, and pain medication. I was someone who thought acupuncture was a joke, well 10 years later I gave it a try and I was wrong. I am on my 4th visit and feel amazing. Do I still have some pain....yes but after this long I don’t expect it to just go away in 1 visit. Is my pain better.... Absolutely. If you have never tried acupuncture I highly recommend you do. Thank you to Paul and staff at Therapeutic Bodywork!
