Deb Salazar: Licensed Acupuncturist, Doctor of Oriental Medicine (NM)

Deb was first introduced to deep health and beauty during a summer adventure working as an organic banana farmer on Maui. Staying in a special area on the southeast shore called Kipahulu, she tasted pure food, breathed fresh air and lived harmoniously with nature. Her passion to live and grow her own space on the mainland grew from there.

After studying Naturopathic Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon and transferring to Chinese Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she is now a Licensed Acupuncturist (MA & NM) and Doctor of Oriental Medicine (NM).

Today, Deborah uses Oriental Medicine as her vehicle to access health, balance and harmony. Besides the traditional tools of acupuncture, gua sha, cupping, moxa, herbs and bodywork, she also enjoys working with Ayurvedic Medicine, Western Herbalism, Homeopathy and Essential Oils. In addition, she has studied with Gabriel Cousens, a world-renowned leader for treatment of diabetes using vegan and live food nutrition. Deb also practices yoga and qigong, and is a teacher of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan.

Currently only working part-time, Deb focuses on working with women’s health, chronic diseases like Lymes Disease, herbs, the pursuit of longevity and Spiritual Nutrition.

In her practice, Deb is practical. She works with the patient to find realistic goals and changes using her broad experience in the health field. She believes that it is her job to teach you how to be your own doctor by remembering how to listen to your own body. She understands that many of us have lost touch with these natural instincts and this is where she, herbalism and daily choices come into play. Using knowledge of your constitution and current state of health, she will help guide you back to feeling more like You!

Deb was born on the Cape but has recently returned with her husband Paul after years of studying various healing modalities out west. They live in West Barnstable with her mother and have 2 lovely children, a dog, hens and a growing medicinal herb garden.
