Supporting Your Body Through Fertility, Pregnancy & Postpartum
/From trying to conceive to pregnancy and postpartum, your body is doing incredible work. Every stage brings its own changes, challenges, and milestones, and having the right support can make all the difference.
Whether you're hoping to grow your family, preparing to welcome your baby, or navigating those early weeks with a newborn, holistic therapies can offer gentle, effective support along the way. We’re here to help hopeful and expectant mothers feel more connected, supported, and cared for throughout their journey into parenthood.
Acupuncture for Fertility, Pregnancy & Beyond
For many women, Acupuncture becomes a trusted part of their fertility journey.
When You're Trying to Conceive
Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to support reproductive health and is often incorporated into both natural conception and assisted fertility plans. Treatments are tailored to your unique needs and can help support hormonal balance, improve circulation to the reproductive organs, reduce stress, and create a more balanced foundation for conception.
Many women find that Acupuncture offers not only physical support but also emotional support during what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process.
During Pregnancy
The benefits of Acupuncture don't stop once you see those two pink lines. Throughout pregnancy, treatments can be adjusted to support both mother and baby as your body changes.
Acupuncture may help ease common pregnancy discomforts such as nausea, fatigue, headaches, back pain, pelvic discomfort, and sleep challenges. It can also help calm the nervous system, encourage relaxation, and provide a dedicated space for self-care during a season that can feel overwhelming.
Preparing for Birth
As your due date approaches, Acupuncture can help support your body's natural preparation for labor. Many women find that regular treatments help them feel more balanced, relaxed, and supported as they prepare to welcome their baby. It can even be used to encourage a breech baby to move into a head-down position, with treatments being most effective between 33 and 36 weeks of pregnancy.
Reflexology for Pregnancy & Labor Preparation
Reflexology offers a deeply relaxing way to support your body throughout pregnancy while also preparing for labor in the weeks leading up to your due date.
During Pregnancy
Pregnancy places incredible demands on the body. Reflexology can help promote relaxation, improve circulation, and provide relief from common discomforts such as swelling, fatigue, tension, low back pain, pelvic discomfort, and stress.
By creating a space for deep relaxation and restoration, Reflexology can help you feel more comfortable, connected, and supported throughout your pregnancy.
As Your Due Date Approaches
In the final weeks of pregnancy, Reflexology can become an especially valuable tool for labor preparation.
By working specific reflex points on the feet, Reflexology may help encourage labor by supporting uterine activity, stimulating the body's natural release of oxytocin, and helping reduce feelings of anxiety and tension. When the body is relaxed, it is often better able to move through the natural processes of labor.
Some studies suggest that consistent Reflexology sessions in late pregnancy may help shorten the overall duration of labor and contribute to a more positive birth experience.
Whether you're hoping to encourage labor naturally or simply create more ease and relaxation before delivery, Reflexology can be a wonderful addition to your birth preparation plan.
Lymphatic Drainage for Postpartum Recovery
After birth, much of the attention naturally shifts to your baby, but your healing matters too.
The postpartum period is a time of significant recovery as your body works to heal, regulate hormones, restore energy, and adapt to caring for a newborn. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is one of our favorite ways to support that process.
Reducing Swelling & Supporting Healing
MLD is a gentle, rhythmic technique designed to encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid throughout the body. This can help reduce postpartum swelling, support circulation, and assist the body's natural healing processes.
Many new mothers experience fluid retention after delivery, especially following IV fluids during labor or a Cesarean birth. Lymphatic Drainage can help the body process and eliminate excess fluid more efficiently, leaving you feeling lighter and more comfortable.
Encouraging Rest & Nervous System Support
Beyond the physical benefits, MLD is deeply restorative. New motherhood often comes with interrupted sleep, constant demands, and little time to recharge.
The gentle nature of the treatment helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system - the body's "rest and restore" mode - creating an opportunity for deep relaxation and recovery.
One of our postpartum clients shared:
"I scheduled Manual Lymphatic Drainage with Gustavo four weeks into my postpartum.
I have to say that Gustavo's session exceeded my expectations. I think that 75-minute session was more restorative than any 2–3 hour stretch I've gotten since having a newborn. I was so deeply relaxed and yet, felt rejuvenated in ways I didn't expect.
MLD is probably one of the best things a new mom (or anyone having undergone a major procedure) can do for themselves."
